The virtual universe (Metaverse) is the name given to the “perceptual universe” in which people put themselves together with what they dream and feel by using their mental powers through augmented virtual reality devices without any physical effort.
This universe enables human cognition to be included in an artificial physical environment thanks to computers, smart devices and 3D devices.
The concept of metaverse characterized a fictional world for the first time in Neal Stephenson’s science fiction novel Snow Crash, published in 1992.
This concept has come to the fore even more, especially with Facebook’s interest in the subject. Facebook, which has a large data pool in its hands, has thus acquired the metadata of millions of people. This gave rise to the concern that an artificial world based on artificial intelligence would threaten the individual borders of people.
Metaverse promises us to create a virtual public space. Virtual currencies of this public sphere are currently traded in the cryptocurrency market. In this respect, the whole of concepts is seen as the future of the internet. The city that first entered this artificial universe called the Metaverse is known as the city of Seoul. If this technology is sufficiently developed, people will have the opportunity to do many activities such as shopping, going to the movies, spending time in the cafe, without making any physical effort, thanks to the virtual reality devices they have acquired.
To sum up, Metaverse is a digital world where the real and the virtual merge in a science fiction vision and allow people to move between different devices and communicate in a virtual environment. In practical terms, it refers to the whole of products and services on virtual reality. In the Metaverse, people use their avatars to represent themselves, communicate with each other and virtually create the community. Users can also use virtual reality headsets and controllers to virtually travel through the metadatabase for entertainment without any purpose in mind. For this reason, the concept of metaverse is a big and promising concept for humanity.
